Mandatory Criteria:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits on digital properties (websites, mobile apps, software, etc.) and to identify compliance gaps and barriers for people with disabilities.
  • Perform manual and automated testing using accessibility tools, such as screen readers, browser extensions, and keyboard navigation, to evaluate accessibility and usability.
  • Exposure to VPAT, ACR and automated tools like WAVE and Google lighthouse.
  • Provide expert guidance and actionable recommendations to clients on how to improve accessibility, addressing both technical and design challenges.
  • Work closely with design, development, and product teams to ensure that accessibility is integrated into the planning, design, and implementation stages of projects.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on accessibility best practices, including creating accessible content, coding for accessibility, and testing for compliance.
  • Create detailed reports outlining the findings from accessibility audits and testing, including specific recommendations, timelines for improvements, and any compliance issues.
  • Stay up to date with the latest accessibility laws and regulations (e.g., ADA, WCAG, Section 508) and advise clients on how to maintain or achieve compliance.
  • Help organizations create long-term accessibility strategies and roadmaps to ensure ongoing compliance and to improve the user experience for individuals with disabilities.
  • Advise on improving the overall user experience (UX) for people with disabilities, ensuring that digital and physical spaces are easy to navigate and use for all individuals.
  • IAAP Certification (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)) is highly preferred.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in accessibility consulting or related roles (e.g., UX/UI design, web development, digital accessibility).
  • Proficiency in accessibility testing tools and software. (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse, JAWS, NVDA).
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development practices related to accessibility.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess accessibility issues and create effective solutions.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
